Senior Electrical Engineer

As an Senior Electrical Engineer, your ability to integrate technology and engineering principals to continuously improve our processes will help keep us on the cutting edge of the tire manufacturing industry.
To be considered for this role, here are the skills we are looking for:
- An eagerness to integrate the latest electrical technology into practical systems and operations
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least five years of experience in a similar role with comparable goals and responsibilities; manufacturing experience is a plus
- You’re a go-to expert on PLC, Servo, PC, DC drive, AC drive, and power distribution systems
- The ability to effectively and professionally lead large-scale projects encompassing multiple departments and elements
- Practical experience and strong aptitude in electrical engineering techniques, principals, and procedures
- Staying abreast of industry trends and advancements with the intent of assimilating new ideas into your work
- Oversee the quality of work on all projects to guarantee Yokohama’s high standards of quality and safety are 100% maintained
Job Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineer III, you will lead capital projects from concept to final release including design, budget, schedule, and team member expectations. In doing so, you will be responsible for:
- Making recommendations to modify existing equipment or new machine installations
- Coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on track and meet objectives, while assigning priority appropriately
- Allocating resources such as manpower, budgets, and equipment as needed for each project, optimizing resource utilization
- Maintaining budgets, procuring materials from vendors, and overseeing quotes for major projects
- Looking for creative solutions to project management challenges and implementing best practices to improve overall efficiency
- Finding ways to save energy, reduce costs, and be more environmentally-friendly by optimizing electrical systems
- Ensuring that all electrical systems meet safety standards so everyone stays safe on the factory floor
- Collaborating with the Maintenance Department to train, as well as assist, with troubleshooting, repairs, and root-cause analysis to keep our operation running smoothly
- Preparing reports, updates, and engineering data to track progress and plan for the future
- Always being on the lookout for ways to make our electrical systems better, faster, and more reliable
- Spearheading focus groups and project teams that will allow us to continue producing the highest quality product
