The Commercial Services Rep is responsible for establishing positive business relationships with a customer driven strategy aimed to enhance revenue opportunities in an assigned market area. This role will ensure customers receive outstanding service using the "single-point-of-service" business model. Possessing extensive knowledge of our customers' specific business needs and acquiring established commercial contacts throughout the industry are keys to success!

Our Northwest Pipeline is a nearly 4,000-mile bi-directional transmission system crossing the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. Its bi-directional system provides access to British Columbia, Alberta, Rocky Mountain and San Juan Basin gas supplies.

A Day in the Life:

Additionally, some of the work you will be doing includes:
- Managing day-to-day gas scheduling operations on Northwest Pipeline
- Coordinating internal maintenance project impacts on pipeline
- Collaborating with others to improve available capacity during winter and maintenance seasons
- Participating in lead-on-call weekly rotation for scheduling oversight
- Leading projects that add efficiency to the team
Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Negotiates sophisticated commercial arrangements and changes to business practices / tariff provisions
- Identifies growth opportunities while representing Williams and the buying influences position
- Partners and shares market intelligence with Commercial Strategic Development on merger, acquisition and origination efforts impacting our business
- Ensures the development of an efficient commercial system and processes to assist customers in acquiring new or releasing existing capacity, scheduling capacity, handling imbalances, and obtaining billing and volume statements
- Expands industry-wide knowledge regarding the natural gas industry to include oil and NGLs; provides industry leadership to push favorable policies forward and impede the implementation of harmful policies
- Develops tariff recommendations to support new services, improve existing services and to follow FERC policy and tariff provisions
- Analyzes data to identify process improvements, trends, and predictive behavior
- Other duties as assigned
- Required: High school diploma/GED and a minimum of eight (8) years experience working in an energy environment
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field and a minimum of eight (8) years experience working in an energy environment
- Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial documents and agreements
- Proprietary understanding of how natural gas challenges and complements alternative sources of energy
- Experience leading project teams across multiple fields focused on the commercial operations of the company
- In-depth understanding of most aspects of commercial systems
- Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
- Preferred: A familiarity with contractual and tariff provisions

- Handles customer related activities for assigned accounts; enhances revenue opportunities and represents our company and buying Influences position
- Develops and establishes business relationships with buying influences and provides outstanding service using a "single-point-of-service" business model
- Negotiates commercial arrangements and changes to business practices / tariff provisions
- Collaborates with internal business partners, sharing market intelligence across our organization and providing excellent communications with customers
- Represents Williams and our customer interests relating to interconnecting facilities; ensures consistency across various market areas and coordinates work within the commercial area
- Provides mentorship to staff and other departments throughout our company to ensure that commercial ramifications are weighted appropriately
- Expands industry-wide knowledge regarding the natural gas industry to include oil and NGLs, Williams and its customers
- Ensures the development of an efficient commercial system to assist customers in acquiring new or releasing existing capacity, scheduling capacity, handling imbalances, and obtaining billing and volume statements
- Required: High school diploma/GED and a minimum of four (4) years experience working in an energy environment
